Can the cashier screen hide out-of-stock products?
Yes. Go to Settings → Device Preferences and turn on Hide out-of-stock products (off by default). The cashier's product grid, category filter, and search (name and barcode) then skip every product whose stock is 0 or below. The switch applies right away, with no need to reopen the app.
- Products that don't track stock always show. A product with variants is hidden only when every variant is out of stock.
- It affects this iPad's cashier only; the Products list still shows every product.
- When every product is hidden, the cashier shows “Every product is out of stock” and tells you where to turn the switch off.
While the switch is on, this iPad can't find out-of-stock products, so it can't sell into negative stock or take a pre-order for them — turn it off when you need to. If products seem to have vanished from the cashier, this switch is usually why.
