What are member tiers for?

Member tiers (e.g. Regular, Silver, Gold) serve two purposes: they can be targeted by promotions (e.g. a Gold-only 10% off), and they let you recognize a customer's status at a glance during checkout.

Tiers can auto-upgrade based on rules you define (e.g. cumulative spend), or be assigned manually. If a voided order had triggered an upgrade, the tier is rolled back automatically.
